The Guardian covers KLL's post-earthquake works

The British Newspaper giant, The Guardian, covers Kathmandu Living Lab's key role in the days following the massive earthquake in the April of last year. The article highlights KLL's instrumental role in mobilizing thousands of online volunteers in creating rapid digital and paper maps of earthquake affected areas immediately after the earthquake, along with the advantages and need of having local organizations in the forefront of disaster response programs. It also touches on one of the most common roadblocks to sustaining endeavors like KLL.

Kathmandu Living Labs work wins best paper award!
The paper Robert Soden (doctoral student at University of Colorado, Boulder) co-authored with Dr. Nama Raj Budhathoki and Prof. Leysia Palen has won the best student paper award at The 11th International Conference on Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management. The conference was held at the College of Information Sciences and Technology, The Pennsylvania State University, University Park from May 18-21, 2014. The paper is titled "Resilience Building and the Crisis Informatics Agenda: Lessons Learned from Open Cities Kathmandu."
