Kathmandu Living Labs will try to inspire a batch of 50+ youth from across the nation on their roles as responsible citizens in today's digital world. An hour long sensitization presentation titled, 'Youth in Digital Development' will introduce OpenStreetMap as a free, open and editable source of digital map data, which when put to right use can emerge as a cross-cutting digital infrastructure of development.
The session is a part of Youth SAARC Regional Conference 2017 being organized by Youth Parliament Nepal on April 24 - 25 at City Hall in Kathmandu. In addition to the presentation from Kathmandu Living Labs, four young delegates from other SAARC countries will also present in the conference. The conference is scheduled to talk on various regional issues such as climate change, youth in entrepreneurship, good governance and economic condition of South Asian countries. OpenStreetMap will be introduced as a cross-cutting platform that can be used as a digital infrastructure of development.
